Alameda Sáenz Peña – Welcome to Barranco
We start at this elegant promenade, inaugurated in 1912 and inspired by European avenues. Its architecture blends Second French Empire, Gothic, Moorish, and Bauhaus styles—rare in Lima. Once an irrigation canal, today it’s a protected Monumental Urban Setting. The obelisk honoring Don José de San Martín stands right across from the Spanish Embassy—a historical contrast worth noting.Perfect spot for your first great photo in Barranco.
